Alton McCrea
Warehouse Manager
I’m skilled in welding, heavy operations and groundskeeping. Currently, I’m working the night shift in a warehouse, but my goal is to obtain a position with a reputed company utilizing my physical abilities, attention to detail, and technical skills.
Q1 - What’s one tool in the kitchen you wish you had and why?
BBQ Toolset! Fire up the grill, plan a picnic, or invite friends over for a backyard fiesta. And believe it or not, durable grilling tools are necessary for effective grilling!
Q2 - What’s your biggest meal disaster?
I've never really experienced a meal disaster. I just figured that if my food didn't taste like my grandmother's, I needed more practice. My grandmother always expressed that I needed to learn how to cook as a young man so I wouldn't have to fully depend on women for feeding me when I got older.
Q3 - What’s one thing you would like to learn how to make?
I love to cook soul food, but I'm interested in learning new things and it's more than one. LOL
Q4 - If there was one dish you would teach your kid to make, what would it be?
Perlo rice and chicken. It's a classic southern recipe with chicken, smoked sausages and rice very similar to jambalaya but without the tomatoes.
Q5 - What does it mean to you as a dad to cook for your family?
As a black father, I'm appreciated in my community for stepping up as a man. My goal in life is to teach my children to be whoever they want to be no matter what obstacle comes their way. I want to continue being that role model for men like myself.
