I’m a Federal Government Management Analyst by day and a cooking machine by night! My family is strong, humble, and humorous! We are comprised of two fur babies (Mojo and Smokey), our 10yo daughter Olivia, our 13yo son Travon and a beautiful blonde bombshell (age unknown to all mankind) Roni Lynn.
Q1 - What’s one tool in the kitchen you wish you had and why?
The one tool I wish I had in the kitchen would be a VacMaster VP215 Chamber Vacuum Countertop Sealer. I would like this because it grants me the opportunity to vac seal liquid marinades in bags and it also allows for instant alcohol or pickling to occur with fruits and veggies!
Q2 - What’s your biggest meal disaster?
For me it would have to be the unexpected flame outs on my pellet grill when cooking pork belly burnt ends.... i basically made charcoal with my pork belly. Thankfully for the overall build of the Rec Tec I was able to clean up and keep on cooking like it never happened.
Q3 - What’s one thing you would like to learn how to make?
I really want to learn to make Beef Wellington, and Chicken Cordon Bleu.
Q4 - If there was one dish you would teach your kid to make, what would it be?
I would love to teach my children how to make potato soup, and party chicken. Both my Mom and and my Aunt raised me and neither of them were interested in cooking, but they always threw down on those two dishes
Q5 - What does it mean to you as a dad to cook for your family?
Cooking in general to me brings ppl from all walks of life together to celebrate food and flavors. It aids in brings in conversation and most importantly for my family it’s the time we all set aside to stop the TV, and other electronics and enjoy each other for that time. We like to ask each other how our days have been and what is on our minds. On almost all occasions our meals are what resets our family from troubles and outside the home frustrations.
