We met up with Sage Spalding who was born and raised in Hawaii. Sage owns and operates Maui Sailing Canoe, an excursion canoe adventure tour in Maui. He’s a father of 2 awesome kids, Kirra and Cru, and married an amazing kickass woman Liz who is a tug boat captain here on the islands.
Sage’s Dad taught him this local favorite dish when he was a kid, but Sage has now added his own twist to it. You are going to love this episode and recipe!!!
Q1 - What’s one tool in the kitchen you wish you had and why?
A built in Miele CVA 6401 coffee machine because it’s awesome!
Q2 - What’s your biggest meal disaster?
Tried to do a slow cooker pork using Coca Cola it was disgusting.
Q3 - What’s one thing you would like to learn how to make?
Perfectly cooked fish I can never get it right
Q4 - If there was one dish you would teach your kid to make, what would it be?
My secret Teri chix on the grill, I could tell you what’s in it but then I’d have to ? you hahaha
Q5 - What does it mean to you as a dad to cook for your family?
My wife and I make a great team, we both work more than full time so just to do my fair share of the work feels great.
