Q1 - What’s one tool in the kitchen you wish you had?
I wish I had a cast iron pot or dutch oven. I love that they're easy to clean, can be used in the kitchen or on a campfire, and the stews that come out of my friend's are something I want to try and recreate.
Q2 - What’s your biggest meal disaster?
Cooking on a boat is always tricky. I remember cooking as a deckhand and creating a delicious spaghetti dinner. Just as we were all about to sit down at the galley table, we got hit with a roque wave and everything ended up on the floor. I was so bummed and the evil look that the skipper gave me is something I'll never forget.
Q3 - What’s one thing you would like to learn how to make?
I think it would be pretty cool to learn to make tiramisu.I think it would be pretty cool to learn to make tiramisu.
Q4 - If there was one dish you would teach your kid to make, what would it be?
I'd like to teach Ola to make pan seared salmon with Kalo and roasted veggies. Not only is this one of the most nutritious meals you can eat, it's really fast to make. This way he could get the nutrients he needs for his active lifestyle, and get to spend more time doing the things he loves.
Q5 - What does it mean to you as a dad to cook for your family?
I feel blessed...(most of the time :) and a responsibility to cook nutritious meals for my family. Both Seun and I come from an athletics background, so we know the importance of food to overall well being. We look at food as medicine, so learning how to make nutritious ingredients into delicious meals is rewarding, especially when we get to share with friends and family.
