1 lb fresh bluefin (or other sushi-grade) tuna, cut into cubes
⅓ cup soy sauce or tamari
Wasabi paste, to taste
2 tbsp sesame oil
2-4 tablespoons very thinly sliced ginger
1 avocado, peeled and diced
Boning Knife (if using whole fish)
- In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, wasabi paste (add just a little to start), and sesame oil until well combined. Taste and add more wasabi, if needed.
- Add the sliced ginger and diced avocado, gently fold until combined.
- Transfer to the fridge and let the flavors meld for at least 30 minutes or so.
- Serve as a bowl over rice with your favorite toppings or with tortillas or wonton chips for dipping.
