Hawaiian Style - BBQ Pizza

This Hawaiian Style BBQ Pizza brings the island vibes with a smoky twist—sweet pineapple, tangy BBQ sauce, melty mozzarella, and savory ham all layered on a crispy crust. It’s the perfect balance of sweet, smoky, and cheesy that’ll have you saying aloha in seconds!
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 par-grilled (or baked), 6-8 inch pizza crusts (we used Outdoor Grilling Dough by Urban Slicer or follow this dough recipe for a gluten-free option)
- Homemade Marinara sauce (recipe below, can also use store bought)
- Deli Ham
- Pineapple - cut in small pieces
- Sweet Onion sliced in rings
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh cilantro
-Dried chili flakes
- BBQ Sauce (we used Rufus Teague Diablo Limonajo)
- Hot Sauce to taste (I used "little beach" from Maui BBQ Grills)
Roasted Marinara Sauce
4 lbs ripe tomatoes, quartered
1 small yellow onion, quartered
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt, to taste
Tools
Medium saucepan
Cutting board
Knife
Smoker or grill
Instant read thermometer
Pizza paddle
DIRECTIONS:
MARINARA:
- For the roasted marinara, preheat oven to 450°F.
- Place the quartered tomatoes and onion onto a large baking sheet and toss with the olive oil, Italian seasoning, and salt.
- Roast for 30-40 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and transfer everything to a large bowl.

Use an immersion blender to blend until mostly smooth. (Alternatively, you can transfer everything to a blender and blend until mostly smooth.)
PIZZA
- To make the pizzas, preheat smoker or grill to 525°F.
- Follow the instructions on the Urban Slicer Pizza package.
- Spread a few spoonfuls of the marinara sauce onto each pizza crust add a drizzle of Rufus Teague BBQ Sauce.
- Top with a few slices of onion, ham, pineapple and mozzarella cheese.
- Grill (or bake) for about 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
- Add a pinch of some red chili pepper flakes and fresh cilantro.
- Slice it up and enjoy!
Note - make sure to pat dry the pineapple before adding it on your pizza to prevent the pizza from getting soggy.
