Grill something up for dinner? Take advantage of that already hot grill by trying out this recipe for Grilled Dessert Pears! Grilling brings out the natural sweetness of fruits while adding a delightful, smoky flavor. 


4 Bartlett pears
Dark brown sugar
Ground cinnamon
Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Tin foil 
Cutting board 


  1. Preheat grill to 375°F.
  2. Rinse and dry the pears.
  3. Cut in half lengthwise and remove the core and stem.
  4. Cover the top of each half with brown sugar.
  5. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon.
  6. Close the two pear halves together, place in the center of a piece of tin foil, and wrap tightly.
  7. Repeat with the remaining pears.
  8. Place on the top rack of the grill and cook for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Place each pear in a bowl, top with vanilla ice cream, and enjoy!!
