DOUBLE SMOKED SWEET AND SPICY HAM

YIELDS: 6 Servings PREP TIME: 5 mins COOK TIME: 30 mins TOTAL TIME: 35 mins

Smoked ham is delicious as is, but what if we slapped it with some chili powder, a little bit of honey, and smoked it again?! The result was one crazy good ham! Sweet, spicy, smokey perfection.

INGREDIENTS:

2.5 lb smoked, boneless ham (got mine from Devil’s Gulch Ranch)
¼ cup honey + additional for basting 
2-3 tbsp chili powder, to taste

Tools 
Smoker or oven 
Basting brush
Chef's Knife
Cutting board 

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat smoker or oven to 400°F. 
  2. Score the skin of the ham in a diamond pattern to allow the honey and chili powder to really soak in. 
  3. Rub the ham with chili powder then smear it with the honey. 
  4. Smoke/bake for 30-40 minutes, basting with a little extra honey a few times throughout cooking. Remove once a  nice, crunchy crust has formed and the ham is heated through. 
  5. Slice and enjoy!
