CHILI SMOKED PARMESAN CHEDDAR TUNA MELT

YIELDS: 1 Servings PREP TIME: 5 mins COOK TIME: 10 mins TOTAL TIME: 15 mins

If you are craving a tuna melt this is the way to go! By adding parmesan cheese, smoked cheddar cheese and chili powder... It's a flavor explosion in your mouth!

INGREDIENTS:

1 can albacore tuna in water
2 tbsp mayonnaise
2 pinches kosher salt
2 pinches ground black pepper
2 dashes chili powder
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
2 strips smoked sharp cheddar cheese
4 strips tomato sliced
2 slices bread of your choice 
1 tbsp butter

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine the mayonnaise, salt , pepper, chili powder, and grated parmesan cheese in a bowl and mix thoroughly until well combined. 
  2. Add more mayonnaise to each side of the bread, then put the tuna mix on the bread.
  3. Add smoked cheddar cheese and slices of tomatoes and cover with the second slice of bread.
  4. Heat your skillet or pan on medium low heat for 5 mins to allow the pan to be hot and ready.
  5. Add butter straight to the pan as soon as it melts a little put the sandwich on top of it. Let it cook slowly so the cheese melts and doesn't burn. Lower the heat the better! Takes a little longer but the results are what you are looking for.
  6. Repeat with butter in the skillet and flip to the other side again on low heat. Low and slow! (Too high of heat and your bread will be burnt and nothing will be melted inside.)
