How to Fillet a Fish – Red Snapper!

How to Fillet a Fish – Red Snapper!

Not many of us know how to fillet a fish. I’m not the kind of guy that goes fishing, catches fish or even fillets fish. I was never taught how to do that! I know a lot of you guys go hunting or fishing and probably have that experience! However, the rest of us have to go visit our fishmonger to help us out.

You know… I don’t feel bad that I don’t know how to fillet a fish. Why you might ask? Because I know how to cook it! And hopefully you agree with me that cooking a fish is probably more important than trying to figure out how to fillet it, especially when somebody else can fillet it for you… unless you’re on the next episode of survivor and you need to figure it out quickly! Not too many fishmongers on a deserted island… LOL! Plus, you might not have a sharp knife either so making a fire would be more important and you can always just slap the fish on stick and rotisserie it until it’s done!

I wish I did have those survival skills. However, I don’t and the only thing I know how to do is to go to the supermarket, buy my food, bring it home and cook it for my family!

I was lucky enough to go into Woodlands Supermarket and meet up with Ron the fishmonger! Ron shows us the simple easy ways to fillet a red snapper. It didn’t seem too hard when Ron showed me how to do it, but then again Ron has been doing it for years and years, and he’s got a very sharp knife! But, if you feel like you want to jump in and try to filet your own red snapper this is how you would do it.

I could try to describe this to you but it’s better that you watch the video because it’s easier and more descriptive! Plus, I don’t know how to fillet a fish properly, so this is definitely something you want to learn from an expert, like Ron the fishmonger or your buddy that fishes all the time!!
