I am a bioprocess engineering consultant with over 30 years of technical management experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry. I am the principal of VLW Associates which specializes in the design, qualification and operations management of Biopharmaceutical facilities.

 

Q1 - What’s one tool in the kitchen you wish you had and why?

I wish I had an automated Persian rice cooker that makes crispy rice at the bottom every time.

Q2 - What’s your biggest meal disaster?

One time I was cooking halibut on a pan in the barbecue and the mayonnaise and parmesan topping caught fire. I managed to scrape and scrap the mayo to save the fish below, and the dinner party luckily continued with no need to call the fire department!

Q3 - What’s one thing you would like to learn how to make?

Persian Saffron rice

Q4 - If there was one dish you would teach your kid to make, what would it be?

Chicken soup, served with crispy rice, that lasts all week.

Q5 - What does it mean to you as a dad to cook for your family?

I feel the potential to feel appreciated on a daily basis as we can yet celebrate the ordinary, and explore the extraordinary
