Q1 - What’s one tool in the kitchen you wish you had and why?

A deep fryer. Sometimes it's just so fast and simple to make a batch of imperial rolls or calamari that the whole family loves.

Q2 - What’s your biggest meal disaster?

I was trying to shred green papaya to make a salad but cut a piece of my finger on the mandoline which dripped blood all over the salad.

Q3 - What’s one thing you would like to learn how to make?

I love desert, but don't bake much so I would love to learn how to make a souffle or creme brulee.

Q4 - If there was one dish you would teach your kid to make, what would it be?

It would definitely be pho which is the quintessential dish of Vietnam. Pho is their comfort food and ties them to their Vietnamese roots.

Q5 - What does it mean to you as a dad to cook for your family?

Cooking for the family is equally as important as my career and identity as a father. I don't always have the right words to say how much I love my family and cooking for them is essentially my way of showing how much I love them.
